Cirsphe and I will be on teamspeak this Saturday at 8 Pacific to talk all things Star Citizen. We've stayed up on the vast majority of news about the game and want to host an hour or two long session to answer questions you might have about the game: status, development plans, etc... Plus our presence in SC, our organization and plans to develop it are likely fuel for discussion.
We don't know all the answers, a lot is open to interpretation/speculation, but we'll do our best to answer your questions about what to expect in the game. We have others in AoA who are very knowledgeable about the game development (Bnorus, Stat, Arcfire, SignalWarden to name only a few) so i'm confident we can answer many of the questions that might be out there and be clear on what we don't know yet as well. Hopefully some of these others will join in with the discussion.
Chances are for those in the AC alpha we'll also go ahead and fly a bit to test out the new flight model so come join us,...

Fellblade has been an active and fantastic staple of AoA leadership since he was brought on as an officer for Star Wars: The Old Republic, eventually taking the reigns to run the division himself in only a few short months. He's shown integrity, dedication, drive, and overwhelming fairness in his time with us.
Lately Fellblade has been the direction and workhorse behind our growing Star Citizen division. In a time when it seems there's not much focus or direction in group gaming as a genre, anticipation for Star Citizen has kept us grounded and focused. Without Fellblade there would be no Star Citizen division to rally around.
So it seems like it should just go without saying that we'd like to welcome Fellblade on as an AoA Admin to carry out his great ideas straight from the top.
And now for the traditional spanking initiation ceremony. Everyone get it line. Except you, @Fellblade

The new server software is up and serving our web site. The deployment went off without a hitch except for me forgetting to disable the old cache at the forum software level which caused a couple hours of hard downtime.
So far I can't find any breakages. The average page load times have only jumped by about 30ms which could be attributed to rebuilding the PHP opcache and no longer caching user data. They should come back down over time as the whole site is once again cached. I may or may not re-implement the user session caching depending on performance metrics over time.
There are going to be a lot of server restarts in the near future which may impact performance. The site shouldn't go down but each restart clears the cache and can cause delays if you were attempting to load the site while the workers are reloading. It's also possible you may be spontaneously logged out. That's just your session data getting lost during config changes and restarts.
All that said, we're...

New phishing scam sees hackers bypass Steam Guard security
April 17, 2014 | By Mike Rose
Valve introduced Steam Guard back in 2011 -- an additional security measure that aims to protect users whose Steam accounts are compromised. However, a new phishing scam has seen hackers manage to bypass Steam Guard completely.
When you have Steam Guard activated on your Steam account, and you (or someone else) attempts to log in to your account from somewhere other than your regular computer, a code is sent to your email which must be entered before access can be gained.
A new phishing scam, however, asks for a username and password for Steam, and then tells users that they need to download a special SSFN file from your computer. This file is located in your Steam folder, and is in place to tell Steam Guard that it...

All Out Assault is proud to announce our newest division: Free Realms!
Described by its creators as "A brand-new jaw-dropping free virtual world where you can do whatever you want, whenever you want!", Free Realms has quietly captured the imaginations of AoA veterans and risen to dominate the gaming time of the entire AoA leadership. As such, we're launching this directly as a full division!
Stay tuned to the forums, where our new division forum will be launched later today after someone locates division lead HittingSmoke, who was last seen wandering around in the Washington hills with sticks in his beard, mumbling something about chickens.
For more information, see the Free Realms website:

[FLOAT=LEFT][/FLOAT]XenForo 1.3 has a stable release and that means it's update time. The 1.3 update is going to be done along with a plethora of other backend updates and tweaks. This is roughly a full day's worth of work that I'm going to try to stretch out so there is some buffer room between specific changes to monitor for issues. At most the site might be up, down, or in and out of read only mode over the next three days. I'll try to keep hard downtime to a minimum.
In the mean time you'll still be able to access IRC at irc.GameSurge.net channel #Clan_AoA or TS3 at the usual address. Both services will be completely unaffected by the site update.
You can also take a moent during the downtime to read over the new features added in version 1.3 here: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/xenforo-1-3-0-released.70210/#post-733670
