I have seen the future gentlemen. Saw an LTT video just now showing off this: https://wooting.nl/ http://blog.wooting.nl/flaretech-the-optical-keyboard-switch/ I had no idea this was a thing being worked on. Probably above my price range at the moment (current exchange makes it about $180 USD), and not a full size board sadly, but give this idea a couple years to ripen in the market and I might just have to get one. This is a much better solution to the problem I was trying to solve with my frankenpad test a while back (where I half-assed some xbox triggers onto a nostromo). Imagine playing Star Citizen with the full functionality of a keyboard, but with every key having the response curve of an analog trigger... so many possibilities. - variable throttle input on every flight axis... a dream come true for those of us who love to do manual maneuvers in decoupled mode. - apparently you can do things like bind two actions to one key based on stroke depth, so you could potentially bind look down sights and fire to the same key (though that is usually a mouse button, so I guess we need an analog mouse too) - play fps with the movement granularity of a thumbs stick and the aim precision of a mouse... fuck yes. I am, in a word, erect.
